Junior Kierra Watson named OAC Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-21.

The junior earned the honor for the second time in her career and the second time this season.

In Northern's two meets this week, Watson posted a perfect 6-0 record in her events.

In a 127-112 victory over Baldwin Wallace, the junior helped the 200 medley relay team take first place in 1:55.72.

Watson followed that up with victories in the 50 free in :26.32 and the 100 back in 1:02.91.

During ONU's 176-113 victory over Oberlin, Watson posted three victories to lead ONU.

She won the 100 back in 1:03.65 and the 200 back in 2:17.15 and teamed up with the 400 medley relay team to take first place in in 4:18.87.

Northern returns to the pool on Friday evening as it travels to No. 1-ranked Kenyon for a tri-meet with the Ladies and Ohio Wesleyan.
