Senior Sydney Veon named OAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Senior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 8-14.

The senior led the Polar Bears in an OAC matchup with Mount Union on Sunday afternoon, posting victories in four events to help ONU claim a 160-120 victory on Sunday afternoon.

In a span of about 10 minutes, Veon won the 100 breast in 1:08.63 and the 50 free in :25.66. Later in the meet she won the 100 free in :56.56.

Veon would also help the Polar Bear 200-meter medley relay team capture first place.

Veon earned the honor for the first time in her career.

The Polar Bears return to the pool on Friday evening as they travel to Berea to compete in the annual Golden Kickboard meet against Baldwin Wallace.
