Women's Swimming & Diving remains seventh after Day 2 of the Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — The Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team remained in seventh place after the second day of the three-day Wooster Invitational at the Timken Natatorium and the Wooster YMCA pools on Friday.
Sophomore Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) finished sixth in the 100 back in 1:01.38 to lead the Polar Bears.
Junior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Brookfield) was eighth in the 100 breast in 1:09.61.
Freshmen Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) and Libby Sartschev (Parma/Normandy) each posted ninth place finishes for ONU.
Halle was ninth in the 400 I.M. in 4:43.41 and Sartschev was ninth in the 1-meter diving with 289.30 points.
The 200 medley relay team of Watson, senior Molly Wheeler (Sylvania/Northview), Halle and senior Stephanie Brookens (Louisville) were ninth in 1:53.48.
Ohio Northern is in seventh place out of 10 teams after 13 of the 20 events with 402 points. Case Western Reserve leads the team standings with 1,205 points, Edinboro (Pa.) is second with 922 and Westminster (Pa.) is third with 757.
The Polar Bears will wrap up the meet on Saturday.
