GAMBIER — Sophomore Jill Chapman led the Women's Swimming and Diving team Saturday afternoon as they fell to No. 3 Kenyon 182-43 at the Kenyon Aquatics Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-2 on the year and remain 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Kenyon improves its record to 1-0 overall.
Chapman finished second in the 100 yard freestyle and the 50 yard freestyle in 54.86 seconds and 24.79 seconds, respectively.
Chapman also teamed up with junior Allison Lohnes, sophomore Emily Uhrin and freshman Sydney Veon to place second in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:53.04.
Sophomore Jennifer Collopy placed second in one meter diving with a score of 121.20 for the Polar Bears.
"We are fortunate to get this opportunity to go up against the nations best in their amazing facility and learn from a program I hold in the highest esteem," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "Swimming the full Kenyon squad puts the team to a test and our goals for the meet were met. Grabbing any top six place is a good measuring stick and we had several. We stood tall, gave our best and know we will get better through from having had this experience."
The Polar Bears return to action Friday as they host Findlay and Defiance at the ONU Sports Center at 6 pm.
