Rayhill, Inkrott win events to lead Women's Swimming & Diving in Day 2 of OAC Championships

AKRON -- Senior Lindsey Rayhill won the 100 fly and sophomore Lindsey Inkrott won the 100 back to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team on Day 2 of the OAC Championships at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears are in the lead after the second day with 571 points, while Mount Union is second with 445 points and John Carroll is third with 308 points.
Rayhill surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut and repeated as the OAC champion in the 100 fly, touching in 57.12.
Inkrott also surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut, finishing in a school record 56.86 in the 100 back.
The 800 free relay team of freshman Emily Uhrin, junior Ashley Zoeller, Inkrott and Rayhill broke the OAC and school record in 7:48.64.
The 200 medley relay team of senior Jennifer Hartsel, freshman Jill Chapman, Lohnes and Rayhill won in 1:47.22.
Zoeller also earned All-OAC honors in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.36.
Sophomore Allison Lohnes was second in the 100 back, also surpassing the NCAA "B" cut in 57.00.
"We are at the point in the meet where things are setting up well," said head coach Peggy Ewald. "We are executing our plan great. We have broken records and hit NCAA cuts. I am happy with the overall team performance."
Ohio Northern will look to wrap up its sixth straight OAC championship on Saturday during the final day of competition. Prelims are set to begin at 11 am, with the finals starting at 6 pm.
"We still have one more day left," added Ewald. "We need to bring it again tomorrow to capture another OAC title."
