HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team split a non-conference tri-meet at Hillsdale (Mich.) with Olivet (Mich.) at the Jack McAvoy Natatorium on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (3-1 overall) defeated Olivet (0-3) 170-44 and fell to NCAA Division II Hillsdale (1-3) 131-87.
Senior Lindsey Rayhill, sophomore Allison Lohnes and freshman Jill Chapman all won individual events and combined with freshman Molly Wheeler to win the 400 medley relay to lead ONU.
Rayhill won the 100 fly in 1:00.77, Lohnes won the 100 back in 1:02.06 and Chapman won the 200 I.M. in 2:18.85.
Northern's 400 medley relay team won in 4:11.47.
Freshman Sydney Liber won the 1-meter diving competition with 171.20 points.
"We've been swimming sick and broken, exactly how it is at this time of the year," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "Today gave us an opportunity to swim in the morning against two teams out of conference. For us, that means growth. We're taking away a clear picture of what we need to focus on over the next couple competitions."
The Polar Bears will travel for two more non-conference meets next weekend, swimming at Wittenberg on Friday and at Kenyon on Saturday.
