Lindsey Inkrott sets school record in 100 back to lead Women's Swimming & Diving on Day 1 of Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER — Freshman Lindsey Inkrott broke the school record in the 100 back to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team on Day 1 of the three-day Wooster Invitational on Thursday.
Inkrott swam the first leg of the 400 medley relay in :59.72, beating the previous mark of :59.99 set by Lacey Shumate in 2011.
Even thought the event was not the 100 back, the time counts as a school record because Inkrott swam 100 yards using the backstroke in the first leg of the relay.
The Polar Bears are currentlky sixth out of 10 teams with 229 points through five of 20 events.
NCAA Division II Edinboro (Pa.) leads the team standings with 459 points, NCAA Division II Gannon (Pa.) is second with 441.5 points and Wooster is third with 370 points.
The 400 medley relay team of Inkrott, junior Jennifer Hartsel, junior Lindsey Rayhill and senior Mackenzie Hoffman finished third in 4:01.74.
Rayhill and Hartsel also placed in the 200 I.M., as Rayhill was fifth in 2:13.22 and Hartsel was 11th in 2:14.49.
Inkrott also placed 11th in the 50 free in :25.02.
Hoffman was 20th in the 500 free in 5:23.12 and the 200 free relay team of Hoffman, sophomore Carolina Knauss, Hartsel and Rayhill was seventh in 1:41.43.
Day 2 of the meet will be held on Friday and the meet will wrap up on Saturday. prelims start at 11 am and the finals are at 6 pm each day.
