Seven named to Women's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference At-Large team

ADA — Seven Ohio Northern student/athletes were named to the Women's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference At-Large team for 2011-12 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
Seniors Michelle Eggers and Kristen Timperman, junior Mackenzie Hoffman and sophomore Lindsey Rayhill were named Academic All-OAC, while senior Alison Garbash and sophomores Kelsi Wurm and Lauren Rife were named Honorable Mention Academic All-Conference.
The At-Large team consists of student/athletes that compete in swimming and diving, golf and tennis.
Eggers, a pharmacy major from Overland Park, Kan., wrapped up her four-year career at ONU as a 10-time OAC Champion on the swimming and diving team.
The 2009 OAC Women's Swimmer of the Year, Eggers won conference titles in the 1650-yard free style in 2009, 10 and 11.
She also claimed league titles in the 200 free, the 500 free and the 400 I.M. as well as on four relay teams.
Eggers is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection after earning the honor in 2011.
She also owns the ONU school record in the 500 free and the 1650 free events and as part of ONU's 800 free relay team.
Timperman is a four-year letterwinner on the women's tennis team and is majoring in pharmacy.
She is a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference as a junior in 2010.
A Cincinnati native, Timperman was 18-2 in singles, 5-1 in doubles and 23-3 overall in 2011-12.
In her four seasons as a Polar Bear, Timperman was 66-28 in singles, 25-15 in doubles and 91-43 overall.
Her 66 career singles wins ranks seventh all-time at ONU and her 91 overall wins ranks ninth all-time.
Hoffman is a four-time OAC champion as part of Ohio Northern's swimming relay teams and is now a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree.
She is also the school record holder as part of ONU's 200, 400 and 800 free relay teams.
Hoffman is a psychology major from Strongsville.
Rayhill is a seven-time OAC champion on ONU's swimming squad and is a pharmacy major from Springfield, Ill.
She is the 2-time defending OAC champion in both the 100 and 200 fly events and has won league crowns as a part of three relay teams.
Rayhill owns the school record in 200 fly and as part of ONU's 400 medley and 800 free relay teams.
Garbash is a mechanical engineering major from Saint Clairesville and is a four-year letterwinner on ONU's swimming and diving team.
She is a 9-time OAC Champion, winning the 50 free title in 2009 and as a part of eight relay squads.
Garbash is the school record holder in the 50 free and as part of the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relay teams.
Wurm is a two-year letterwinner on the tennis team and is a pharmacy major from Findlay.
This season, Wurm was also named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
In 2011-12, Wurm won a team-best 26 singles matches against just six defeats. She was 6-4 in doubles and was 32-10 overall.
She will enter her junior season with a 46-14 record in singles, a 25-12 mark in doubles and a 69-26 record overall.
Rife is a biology/pre-med major from North Canton and is a two-year letterwinner on the tennis squad.
She was 9-1 in singles play, a team-high 22-9 in doubles and was 31-10 overall.
In her two seasons as a Polar Bear, Rife is 27-10 in singles, 46-16 in doubles and is 73-26 overall.
