Men's, Women's Swimming & Diving to open 2011-12 season Oct. 29 at home against John Carroll

ADA —The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming & diving teams will open their 2011-12 schedules on Oct. 29 against Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears will host six home meets during the season, with Wooster on Nov. 5, Defiance on Dec. 10, Mount Union on Jan. 14, Notre Dame (Ohio) on Jan. 27 and Case Western Reserve on Jan. 28.

Northern will also travel eight times during the regular season, highlighted by the Wooster Invitational Dec. 1-3 and the annual Winter Training trip Jan. 2-10 at Fort Myers, Fla.

The OAC Championships are Feb. 16-18 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.

The Ohio Northern men have won seven consecutive OAC Championships titles and seven straight OAC Regular Season crowns, while the women have won four OAC Championships titles and five OAC Regular Season championships under eighth-year head coach PeggyEwald.
