No. 22 Wrestling gets four first-period pins, returns from holiday break with 35-13 victory over Mount Saint Joseph
ADA — No. 22-ranked Ohio Northern got four first-period pins and posted a 35-13 non-conference wrestling victory over Mount Saint Joseph on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.

- Junior Colin Mellott (Wapakoneta) got ONU off to a 6-0 lead with a first-period pin at 125 pounds.
- Sophomore Colton Spurgeon (Mount Vernon) and junior Jayden Jones (Ashland) had back-to-back first-period pins at 149 and 157 to give ONU an 18-7 lead.
- Freshman Kael Margraf (McCutchenville/Mohawk) made it 21-7 with an 11-7 decision at 165.
- Junior Adam Myers (Springfield/STEM Academy) got a 5-4 decision at 174 to extend the lead to 24-7.
- Junior Gavin Layman (Chesterton, Ind.) clinched the match for the Polar Bears with a first-period pin at 184, giving the hosts a 30-7 advantage.
- Senior Jadon Brownlee (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) wrapped up the Ohio Northern victory with an 18-1 tech fall victory at Heavyweight.
