Freshman Colton Spurgeon named OAC Wrestler of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Colton Spurgeon (Mount Vernon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Feb. 6-12.

Spurgeon won the 141-pound weight class title at the Mid-States Invitational.

He posted a 3-0 record with two first period pins and a forfeit victory to grab the crown.

This marks the fifth time that an ONU wrestler has won the award this season.

The No. 16-ranked Polar Bears (20-3 overall, 6-1 OAC) will return to action Feb. 25-26 at the NCAA Division III Central Regional Championships at Case Western Reserve.
