No. 13 Wrestling improves to 13-0 with shutouts of Case Western Reserve, Manchester (Ind.)

ADA — The No. 13-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team improved to 13-0 on the season after a pair of impressive shutouts over Case Western Reserve and Manchester (Ind.) at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears opened the day with a 44-0 victory over Case and finished the afternoon by defeating Mancehster 57-0.
In the middle match of the tri-match, Case defeated Manchester 30-18.
The CWRU Spartans move to 2-1 and the MU Spartans fall to 0-3.
ONU won all 20 varsity bouts, nine by fall and two by forfeit.
Sophomore Gavin Layman (Chesterton, Ind.) had two pins on the day at 184 to lead the Polar Bears.
Senior Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) (197) and sophomore Adam Myers (Springfield/Shawnee) (174) each had a major decision and a pin.
No. 2-ranked sophomore All-American Jacob Reed (Lancaster) and No. 10-ranked senior Chase Sumner (Ada) each had a decision and a pin, wrestling at 141 and 149, respectively.
Sophomore Colin Mellott (Wapakoneta) had a tech fall and a major decision at 125 and senior Jordan Hardrick (Dayton/Wayne) had a decision and a tech fall at 165.
Sophomore Teagan Hendricks (Jamestown/Greenview) won by fall and had a forfeit at 157 and sophomore Dylan Le (Powell/Dublin Scioto) won by major decision and had a forfeit at 133.
Senior Logan Painter (Marysville/Early College) added a pin at 285.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Jan. 13-14 at the Lycoming (Pa.) Duals.
