No. 13 Wrestling improves to 11-0 with 35-13 victory at Mount Saint Joseph

CINCINNATI — The No. 13-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team improved to 11-0 on the season with a 35-13 victory at Mount Saint Joseph at the Harrington Center on Thursday night.
The Polar Bears got pins from No. 10-ranked senior Chase Sumner (Ada), senior Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) and sophomore Teagan Hendricks (Jamestown/Greenview) to post the victory.
Sumner got his pin in 1:01 at 149 pounds, DePrest won by fall in 3:32 at 197 and Jones won by pin in 5:30 at 157.
Sophomore Colin Mellott (Wapakoneta) started the dual with a 15-0 tech fall at 125.
No. 2-ranked sophomore Jacob Reed (Lancaster) won by major decision 12-2 at 141 to give Northern an 9-4 lead.
Sumner and Jones followed with back-to-back pins and it was 21-4 Polar Bears.
Senior Jordan Hardrick (Dayton/Wayne) won by tech fall 17-0 at 165 to put ahead ONU 26-4.
Sophomore Adam Myers (Springfield/Shawnee) got a late takedown at 174 pounds to win 5-2 and clinch the match for Ohio Northern at 29-4.
DePrest got his pin at 197 to give Northern a 35-7 lead after 197.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday when they host Case Western Reserve and Manchester (Ind.) in a non-conference tri-match at the ONU Sports Center.
