Sophomore Jacob Reed named OAC Wrestler of the Week for second time this season

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Jacob Reed (Lancaster) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Nov. 28 to Dec. 4.

This marks the second such honor of Reed's career, as he was named the conference's Wrestler of the Week earlier this season on Nov. 7.

A 2022 All-American, Reed posted a perfect 5-0 record with three pins and a major decision to win the 141-pound weight class at the 41st annual ONU Invitational on Saturday as he helped the Polar Bears win the team title in the 13-team field with 198.5 points.

Overall, Reed, who is ranked No. 2 nationally at 141 pounds, is 19-0 on the season with nine pins, one technical fall and five major decisions.

Ranked No. 20 nationally, the Polar Bears are 10-0 in duals this season and return to action on Dec. 22 at the Wilkes (Pa.) Open.
