Sunday's Preview: The Ohio Northern wrestling team will wrap up its abbreviated 2021 season with a tri-meet with Otterbein and Wilmington at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse ... Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the OAC will not allow fans to be in attendance for any contests until at least March 1 ... ONU will wrestle against Otterbein at 2:30 pm, with Otterbein and Wilmington opening action at 1 pm ... The Ohio Northern JV team will face Otterbein's JVs at 1 pm and will wrestle Wilmington's varsity at 2:30 pm ... The Polar Bear varsity has already competed against Wilmington's varsity on Jan. 24 ... Muskingum was also scheduled to compete against ONU, OU and WC on Sunday, but were not able to travel due to COVID-19 protocol issues ... The meet will also be Senior Day, where ONU will honor seniors from all four schools, including Polar Bear seniors Rhett Roeder, Schuyler Caprella, Jevyn Pratt and Cash Thompson ... Since the NCAA has declared that 2020-21 athletes will be charged with a year of eligibility, only Roeder will be honored as the other three seniors are expected to compete again in 2021-22 ... The Polar Bears opened their 2021 season with victories over Heidelberg and Wilmington at the ONU Sports Center on Jan. 24 and fell at #6 Baldwin Wallace last Sunday ... Sumner and freshman Ross Rayfield lead the Polar Bears with 3-0 records ... Four other wrestlers have two wins each ... Five Ohio Northern wrestlers are ranked in the first NWCA poll, released Tuesday night ... Sophomore Chase Sumner is ranked No. 7 at 149 pounds ... Sophomore Camden Spears (133), junior Schuyler Caprella (157), junior Jordan Hardrick (165) and senior Cash Thompson (197) are listed in the "Contender" category as being ranked in the 11-18 group.

Head Coach Ron Beaschler: Beaschler is in his 33rd season at the helm of the Ohio Northern wrestling program and currently stands as the longest-tenured head wrestling coach at the institution ... He sports a 340-242-4 career coaching record in dual action, a winning percentage of .584, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history ... Beaschler was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008 and has been named OAC Coach of the Year three times in 1993, 2012, and 2013.
