Bartlome places third, Caprella fourth to lead Wrestling at Alma (Mich.) Open tournament

ALMA, Mich. — Senior Brandon Bartlome (Sheffield Village/Lorain) placed third and senior Schuyler Caprella (Harrod/Allen East) placed fourth to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team at the Alma (Mich.) Open on Saturday at Art Smith Arena.
The Polar Bears rested their starters after defeating Heidelberg on Thursday, and the reserves put on solid performances.
Bartlome was 5-1 in the 133-pound weight class with a pin and two tech falls and is now 16-10 on the year.
Caprella finished the day 5-1 with three consecutive tech falls at 157 pounds to improve to 28-7 on the season.
Two freshmen, Adam Lenhoff (Newcomerstown/Indian Valley Local) and A.J. Szigeti (Oregon/Clay), each placed fifth with 4-2 records.
Lenhoff was fifth at 157 and improves to 13-11 on the season and Szigeti was fifth at 165 pounds and is now 12-8 on the year.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday with Ohio Athletic Conference duals with No. 11 Mount Union, No. 22 John Carroll and Wilmington at Mount Union.
