Wrestling falls to #9 Baldwin Wallace 28-6 in OAC opener

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team opened the home and Ohio Athletic Conference portions of its schedule with a 28-6 setback to No. 9 Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-2 overall and are 0-1 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 1-0, 1-0.
Senior Seth Transue (Plain City/Jerome) got Ohio Northern on the board with an 8-4 decision at 133.
Transue improves to 7-1 on the season.
Sophomore Connor Kwiat (Tiffin/Calvert) posted an 11-4 decision at 174 for Ohio Northern to move to 4-3 on the year.
In one of the two premier matchups of the night, senior Jeff Andrews (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) was highly competitive in a 2-0 loss to No. 7-ranked Charlie Nash at 141.
In the another highly-anticipated match, junior Cash Thompson (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) was also highly competitive, falling 3-1 to No. 4-ranked Zeckery Lehman at 197.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday with four contests at the Olivet (Mich.) Duals.
