Junior Dylan Dolph leads Wrestling at season-opening Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern wrestling team opened its 2016-17 season with a seventh place finish at the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday.
The Polar Bears finished with 86 points. NCAA Division II Mercyhurst (Pa.) was first with 156.5 points, DII Seton Hill (Pa.) was second with 135 points and Brockport State (N.Y.) was third with 126.5 points.
ONU was led by junior Dylan Dolph (Canton/South), who finished second at 149 pounds with a 3-1 record.
At 174 pounds, sophomore Clayton Davidson (Kirtland) finished third with a record of 6-1.
Freshman Nate Barcaskey (Moon Area) finished fourth at 285 pounds.
Placing fifth for the Polar Bears was senior Ian Brown (Xenia/Carroll) at 184 pounds and junior Alex Bair (Centerville) at 197 pounds.
Sophomore Gavin Nelson (Oregon/Clay) injury defaulted his finals match to finish sixth in the 157-pound weight class.
Junior Brad Taton (Mentor/Lake Catholic) and freshmen Aidan Pierobon (Rochester Hills, Mich./Stoney Creek) and Jacob Thompson (West Mansfield/Triad) placed seventh at 133, 141 and 165 pounds, respectively.
