Wrestling drops 24-12 decision to Heidelberg in OAC opener

ADA — The Ohio Northern wrestling team dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference opener to Heidelberg 24-12 Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 10-7 overall and 0-1 in OAC dual meet action, while the Student Princes improve to 5-8, 1-0.
Freshman Clayton Davidson got Ohio Northern on the board with a solid 3-0 shutout decision at 157 pounds. Davidson is now 18-8 on the season.
Sophomore Alex Bair got the Polar Bears within 17-9 with a medical default victory at 174 pounds. Bair was winning 4-1 in the first period when the match was called. He is now an even 5-5 on the season.
Sophomore Evan Hickey won by decision 8-4 at 197 pounds to make it 21-12. Hickey is now 16-8 on the year.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Tuesday with an OAC dual meet at Mount Union.
