Wrestling drops regular season finale to John Carroll 25-23

ADA -- Senior Michael Pawlitz recorded his 12th pin of the season, but the Ohio Northern wrestling team fell to John Carroll 25-23 in its regular season finale on Senior Night on Thursday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 9-9 on the season and 1-4 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks improve to 3-8, 2-3.
Pawlitz upped his record to 17-7 on the season with his pin in 1:37.
Junior Cole Cochran used two first period takedowns to score a 12-2 major decision at 133 pounds.
At 141 pounds, senior Cody Harting scored four first period points to notch a 4-3 win at 141 pounds.
Sophomore Tyler Gargano used two takedowns in the second period to record a major decision win at 174 pounds by a 15-3 score.
Gargano improves his record to 26-4 on the year.
Junior Cody Lovejoy won by forfeit at 285 pounds.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Mar. 2, when it takes part at the NCAA III Regionals at York (Pa.) College.
