Wrestling posts 3-2 record at Lycoming (Pa.) Duals with win over Williams (Mass.), loss to #23 Heidelberg

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Ohio Northern wrestling team defeated Williams (Mass.) and fell to No. 23-ranked Heidelberg on the final day of the two-day Lycoming (Pa.) Budd Whitehill Duals on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (7-5 overall) started the day with a 25-12 loss to #23 Heidelberg Saturday morning, then defeated Williams (Mass.) 30-20 Saturday afternoon.
Northern went 3-2 in the tournament to finish tied for 9th out of 20 teams.
ONU opened the dual meet tournament with a 27-18 loss to No. 14-ranked Johnson & Wales (R.I.) Friday morning, then responded with a 28-15 victory over RIT (N.Y.) Friday afternoon and a 36-17 victory over Alfred State (N.Y.) Friday evening.
Junior Cody Lovejoy and sophomore Tyler Gargano led the Polar Bears by posting 5-0 records during the tournament.
Lovejoy registered four pins and won once by forfeit and is now 17-1 on the year and Gargano (15-2) had five decisions to improve to 15-2 on the year.
The Polar Bears will resume tournament action on Thursday at 7:30 pm with a non-conference meet at Manchester (Ind.).
