Kyle Kwiat named OAC Wrestler of the Week for the 10th time in his career

ADA — Senior defending national champion and three-time All-American Kyle Kwiat has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.

This marks the third time this season and the tenth time in his career that he has earned the honor.

On Tuesday, posted a pin in 2:43 in the 174-pound weight class to help Ohio Northern to a 21-17 victory over No. 30-ranked Mount Union in a battle of OAC unbeatens.

On Friday and Saturday at the Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational, Kwiat won the 174-pound weight class with a 4-0 record, which included three tech falls.

Kwiat leads the team with a 32-3 record and leads the nation with 19 tech falls.

He is ONU's all-time career win leader with a record of 145-16 with 50 tech falls.

Northern will return to action Tuesday with a 7:30 pm home meet against Baldwin Wallace.
