Kwiat earns his fourth OAC Wrestler of the Week award of the season

ADA — Junior two-time All-American Kyle Kwiat has been named OAC Wrestler of the Week for the week of Feb. 13- Feb. 19 for the fourth time this season.

Kwiat, ranked No. 3 nationally at 174 pounds, helped No. 12-ranked Ohio Northern wrestling team claim its fifth OAC Regular Season title last week.

Kwiat dominated his match Tuesday night winning 17-0 in 2:53, earning his 13th technical fall of the season to help the team to a 38-6 win over Muskingum.

On Friday, Kwiat began the evening with a 16-0 win in 3:44, earning his 14th technical fall against Heidelberg to help the team claim OAC Regular Season title with a 19-16 win.

He finished the regular season with a record of 33-1 and a team-high 14 technical falls.

Ohio Northern wrapped up the regular season with a record of 12-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 mark in OAC duals.

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday, Feb. 25 when they travel to Heidelberg to compete in the OAC Championships at Seiberling Gymnasium.
