Kwiat named OAC Wrestler of the Week for second time this year
ADA —For the second time this season, junior Kyle Kwiat has been named OAC Co-Wrestler of the Week, this time for his work put in at the Citrus Duals last week.
John Carroll's Terner Gott also shared this week's award. The honor for the Polar Bears marks the fourth of the season for the team.
Kwiat won the 174 pound weight class in the No. 26 Polar Bears' seventh place finish at the tournament in Florida last Thursday and Friday.
As the top seed in the tournament, Kwiat went 5-0 with two pins, a tech fall and a major decision to improve to 16-0 on the season.
The two-time All-American is currently ranked No. 2 in the country in his weight class.
ONU returns to action Jan. 10 as it hosts OAC opponent Baldwin-Wallace at 7:30 p.m. at the ONU Sports Center.
