Three Polar Bears score hat tricks to help Women's Lacrosse win 18-6 against Guilford (N.C.)

GREENSBURG (N.C.) — Three different Polar Bears earned hat tricks to help the women's lacrosse open its spring break schedule with a win at Guilford (N.C.) on Tuesdat afternoon.
The Basics

The Game
- Junior Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) finished the game with five points, four goals, and one assist for her 13th career hat trick.
- Junior Elena Martin (Canfield) earned her 15th career hat trick with three goals.
- Freshman Hailey Hahn (Lima/Senior) earned her first career hat trick with three goals as well.
- Senior Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) had two goals and three assists to help get the victory.
- The Polar Bears opened the game with senior Alise Callahan (Cedarburg, Wis.) and Hahn scoring goals to make it 2-0.
- Guilford would tie it 2-2 before the end of the first period.
- ONU and Guilford exchanged goals in the early stages of the 2nd, and it was 4-4 after 10:15.
- The Orange and Black went on a 7-1 run to earn an 11-5 lead heading into halftime.
- ONU scored five unanswered the entire third period and to lead 16-5 going into the fourth.
- The Quakers were led by Emma Garland and Riley Gravley, who scored 2 goals each.
- ONU would score two more goals in the 4th to extend the lead to 18-6.
- Freshman Kara Fox (South Euclid/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) and sophomore Jenna Messinger (Springboro) combined for 4 saves to help ONU get the win.
- ONU out-shot GC 39-12 and had the ground ball advantage 24-15.
