Margo Vandeveld has been named women's lacrosse head coach at Ohio Northern.
"We are very excited for the future of our women's lacrosse program," ONU Director of Athletics Tom Simmons said. "We're happy to add Margo to our family and know that our student-athletes will benefit from her passion."
Vandeveld came to ONU in the fall of 2023 as an assistant women's lacrosse coach after serving as a mental performance coach for MOD Volleyball in Northbrook, Ill.
"I am extremely honored to represent such a great academic institution as the next head coach for the women's lacrosse program," Vandeveld said. "I have felt support from the entire athletic staff since I stepped foot on campus. Thank you to Tom Simmons, Kourtney Wilson, the entire search committee, and President Baumann for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to get started. Go Polar Bears!"
Vandeveld also has experience as a varsity and JV lacrosse and tennis coach at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School in Chicago, Ill.
Vandeveld graduated from Tufts University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in cognitive and brain science and later graduated from Adler University with a master's degree in sport and human performance psychology.
While at Tufts, she was a varsity athlete on the women's lacrosse and women's track and field teams.
