Quartet of hat tricks leads Women’s Lacrosse to 20-6 victory at Anderson (Ind.)

ANDERSON, Ind. — Four players recorded hat tricks to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 20-6 win over Anderson (Ind.) on Wednesday night at Macholtz Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-4 overall while dropping the Ravens to 1-5.
Seniors Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) and Elizabeth Graham (Dayton/Carroll), junior Noel Orioli (Westerville/North) and freshman Elena Martin (Canfield) scored three goals apiece to lead ONU.
Miller now has six hat tricks this season and 14 in her career. She is five goals shy of tying the program's all-time goal-scoring record of 99.
Graham and Martin added three assists each to finish with a team-high six points on Wednesday. Martin also had a team-best four ground balls.
Sophomore Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) tallied two goals and three assists for five points on the night.
Senior Amanda Wells (Mason) finished with a team-high five draw controls for Northern, giving her 193 for her career to surpass the old program record of 188 set by Annie McArn from 2017 to 2021.
Junior Chloe Millican (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) made six saves in goal for ONU and improved to 6-2 on the season.
Riley Tull and Emma Sego scored two goals each to lead the Ravens.
Tull scored the first goal of Wednesday's game, but ONU responded with a goal from Miller sandwiched between a pair of scores from Orioli for a 3-1 lead and took a 4-2 edge into the second quarter.
The Polar Bears then took control of the game, scoring six of the seven second-quarter goals for a 10-3 halftime lead.
Including Graham's two goals to end the first half, Northern went on a 10-0 run that extended into the fourth quarter and was capped by a score from sophomore Alise Callahan (Cedarburg, Wis.) with 10:38 left in the game for an 18-3 lead.
The Ravens scored three of the next four goals to make it 19-6, and Martin capped the scoring with a goal with just 14 seconds left.
ONU out-shot Anderson 37-19 in the game and finished with a 17-12 edge in ground balls.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday at Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll at 1 p.m.
