ADA — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team posted a 23-2 victory over Muskingum on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Muskies fell to 2-8, 0-3.
The team honored its lone graduating senior, Kate Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) in a halftime ceremony.
Northern played the game with a three player advantage as MU was only able to field nine healthy players.
ONU took control of the game quickly, scoring three times in the first 1:57. The hosts led 8-1 after the first quarter and 16-1 at halftime.
Junior Amanda Wells (Mason) shattered the school record for draw controls, collecting 16 on the day. She smashed the previous mark of 13 set earlier this season by sophomore Sydney Kilgore (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) against Franciscan.
Kilgore had three goals and an assist for four points, making her the fourth player in ONU history to collect 100 career points.
In 23 games, Kilgore has 77 goals, 24 assists and 101 points.
Sophomore Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) led the team with five goals and freshman Grace Wilson (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) had a team-best four assists.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday night with a 7 pm home contest against Otterbein.
