Avary Snyder, Meredith Miller lead Women’s Lacrosse to 20-2 rout of Earlham (Ind.)

ADA — Sophomore Avary Snyder (Uniontown/Lake) and junior Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) scored a combined 10 goals in leading the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 20-2 victory over Earlham (Ind.) on Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 4-4 overall on the season while the Quakers fall to 1-2.
Snyder scored a career-high six goals in Wednesday's game and added two assists for a career-high eight points.
Miller added four goals and one assist for five points on the night.
Freshman Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) also tallied five points, scoring two goals and adding three assists.
Junior Amanda Wells (Mason) and sophomores Sydney Kilgore (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) and Elizabeth Graham (Riverside/Carroll) scored two goals apiece, and sophomores Noel Orioli (Westerville/North) and Gabby Monastra (Wooster) added one goal each.
Josie Whorton and Mollie Lyon led Earlham with one goal each.
The Polar Bears jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter courtesy of two goals from Kilgore and one each from Graham, Burden, Wells and Orioli.
Northern continued its barrage in the second quarter, outscoring Earlham 5-1 in the period with two goals each from Miller and Snyder and one from Wells.
Snyder added three more goals to her tally in the third quarter to go with one from Monastra to send ONU into the fourth leading 15-2.
The Polar Bears closed the scoring with two fourth-quarter goals from Miller and one each from Burden, Snyder and Graham.
Fresh off being named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, sophomore goalkeeper Molly Dixson (Cannonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) tallied three saves in the winning effort.
Ohio Northern out-shot Earlham 35-12 and finished with a 25-14 edge in ground balls.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday when they open up conference play at Mount Union at 1 p.m.
