ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Molly Dixson (Cannonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the week of March 7-13.
This marks the first such honor for Dixson in her career.
The accolade comes after Dixson played the entirety of both of the Polar Bears' games last week, which were held at Southwestern (Tex.).
Dixson tallied six saves in a narrow 15-13 loss to Southwestern and added a pair of saves in Northern's 20-3 victory over Northwestern (Minn.)
Dixson has played all 60 minutes of each of Northern's seven games this season and has 45 saves and a 9.43 GAA on the year, which rank second and fifth, respectively, in the OAC.
She ranks third all-time at ONU in career saves (114), wins (8) and goalie minutes (940:56).
The Polar Bears (3-4 overall) return to action on Wednesday as they host Earlham (Ind.) at 7 p.m.
