STEUBENVILLE — Sophomore Elizabeth Graham (Riverside/Carroll) had career-highs of five goals,three assists and eight points to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory at Franciscan Saturday afternoon at Trinity Health Systems Field.
With the win the Polar Bears improve to 2-1 overall, while the Barons drop to 0-1.
Junior Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) and sophomores Sydney Kilgore (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) and Emma Perry (Pickerington/North) added 2 goals apiece.
Sophomore Molly Dixson (Cannonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) earned her second win of the season in goal, recording 8 saves on 17 shots.
Grace Deagan led Franciscan, scoring a hat trick with three goals.
Northern jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 4:32 of the game.
Franciscan closed the gap to 6-5 with 5:36 remaining in the first half.
Ohio Northern responded with 5 goals to extend the lead to 11-5 with 10:06 remaining in the third quarter en route to the victory.
ONU out-shot FU 37-23.
Ohio Northern will return home for its home opener Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against Wittenberg.
