ADA — Sophomore Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) netted four goals as the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team fell 19-9 against Capital Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
With the loss, Ohio Northern falls to 5-9 overall and 5-9 in the Ohio Athletic Conference and Capital improves to 9-2 overall, and 9-2 in the OAC.
Miller led the Polar Bears in scoring with four goals, and senior Annie McArn (Bay Village/Western Reserve Academy) added three goals and two assists.
Kat Walton had eight goals and one assist and Brooke Delara had two goals and five assists that led Capital in scoring.
The Polar Bears jumped out to the early 2-0 lead with two goals in the first 1:53 in the game.
After two straight Crusaders goals, McArn scored with 23:34 remaining in the first half regaining the lead for Northern.
Capital scored ten straight goals to retake the lead at 12-3 with 5:47 remaining in the half.
CU out-shot ONU 29-24, and held the advantage 18-11 in draw controls.
With two games remaining, Northern is in sixth place in the OAC Standings, with the top six advancing to the postseason.
Ohio Northern will return to action Saturday with a 5 pm contest at Muskingum.
