ADA — Freshman Avary Snyder (Uniontown/Lake) scored a career-high five goals as the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team fell 14-11 against Otterbein Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears move to 4-6 overall and 4-6 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals improve to 7-3, 7-3.
Synder led ONU with 5 goals, sophomore Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) added a pair of goals and senior Annie McArn (Bay Village/Western Reserve Academy) added two goals and an assist.
Trailing 10-4 with 25:57 remaining in the second, the Polar Bears scored 5 goals in a row to cut the lead to 10-9 with 19:33 remaining.
Otterbein then responded with a 3-0 run to lengthen the lead to 13-9 with 6:55 remaining, and held on for the win.
The Cardinals started the game with five straight goals.
OU out-shot ONU 32-27.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday night with a 1 pm contest at Mount Union.
