ADA — Sophomores Sydney Skelding (North Plainfield, N.J./Dublin) and Sabra Woodruff (Beavercreek) each scored goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team in a 16-2 loss to Mount Union on a rain Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 4-5 overall and are 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders, who have won the past five OAC crowns, improve to 8-1, 2-0.
MtU led 8-0 at halftime and was on top 13-0 when Skelding scored with 13:13 left in the game, notching her 17th goal of the season.
Woodruff scored her fourth goal of the season on a free position shot with 6:52 left to play.
Junior Kelli Hill (Worthington) had an solid 14 saves in goal for ONU.
Mount Union out-shot Ohio Northern 35-7and won the ground ball battle 26-14.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 pm contest at Heidelberg.
