Skelding scores 5 goals, dishes out 3 assists as Women's Lacrosse posts 15-9 victory at Trine (Ind.)

ANGOLA, Ind. — Sophomore Sydney Skelding scored five goals and dished out three assists to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team in a 15-9 victory at Trine (Ind.) on Wednesday evening at Shive Field.
The Polar Bears finish the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 4-4 record, while the Thunder fall to 4-4.
Skelding had all of her career-best eight points in the first 30 minutes as ONU built an 11-4 halftime lead.
Northern scored six unanswered goals in an 11-minute span to take a 6-1 lead with 11:51 gone in the contest.
The two teams then traded goals the second half and the Polar Bears' lead would not be challenged the rest of the way.
Junior Betsy Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) added four goals and junior Maddie Storr (Clarence, N.Y.) had three goals and two assists for ONU.
TU was led by Kristin John with five goals.
Ohio Northern outshot Trine 33-23 and won the ground ball battle 26-21.
Junior Kelli Hill (Worthington) had nine saves in goal and a .500 save percentage to pick up the victory.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday when they open Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 1 pm contest against Mount Union at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
