ADA -- The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team fell in its home finale 13-3 to Otterbein on Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-12 overall and are 2-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals improve 7-7, 4-3.
Freshman Katie McCourt (Fairview Park/Magnificat) led the ONU offense with a pair of goals.
Northern goalies were outstanding all night long.
Junior Shannen Larsen Van Alstine (Neenah, Wis.) had nine saves on 17 first half shots on goal and freshman Kelli Hill (Worthington) had nine saves on 14 second half shots on goal.
McCourt scored her first goal 5:21 into the game to pull ONU within 2-1 and her goal with 10:13 left in the first half made it a 4-2 game.
Freshman Jacqui Lohman (Liberty Township/Lakota East) scored 44 seconds later to pull the Polar Bears within 4-3.
Despite Northern's outstanding goalie play, the Cardinals tallied the last nine goals of the game to record the win.
OU outshot ONU 43-14.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their season on Saturday with a 1 pm game at Capital.
