ADA — Freshmen Katie McCourt (Fairview Park/Magnificat) and Rachel Shipman (Noblesville, Ind.) scored two goals each to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team in a 19-7 loss to NCAA Division II foe Ursuline on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-4, while the Arrows improve to 2-3.
McCourt scored her first goal 8:16 into the match to pull ONU within 3-1 and Shipman scored just 37 seconds later to make it 4-2.
But UC would score four straight to extend the lead to 8-2.
Sophomore Kayla Reuss (Cincinnati/Seton) scored scored for Ohio Northern to make it 8-3 with 10:58 left in the half.
The Arrows would put the match away by scoring the next seven goals to make it 15-3 2:34 into the second half.
Ursuline out-shout ONU 31-18.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday with a 4:30 pm match at Kenyon.
