Senior Amelia Burger wins Medalist honors as Women's Golf takes 5-team Capital Fall Classic by 38 strokes

LANCASTER - Senior Amelia Burger (Centerville) won Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a 38-stroke victory at the Capital Fall Classic on Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished with a 323 on the par-72 course.
- Heidelberg was second with a 361, Marietta was third with a 380, John Carroll was fourth with a 386 and Capital was fifth with a 389.

- Burger finished first of 31 golfers with a 6-over par 78.
- Junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) was third with an 80.
- Freshman Ella Baird (Avon Lake/Magnificat) carded an 81 to finish fourth.
- Freshman Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) was fifth with an 84.
- Freshman Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) was ninth with an 89.
Notables
- This is the fifth of seven tournaments this fall for the Polar Bears.
- Head coach Chad Bucci is 498-298-2 in his 11th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .625.
