ADA — Ohio Northern senior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18.
This marks Honigford's second such accolade this season and the 12th of her career.
The latest recognition comes after she won Medalist honors by five strokes with a 72-73—145 in the 83-woman field at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. That marked her 17th career Medalist honor.
The Polar Bears won the team title at the tournament with a 309-302—611, breaking the 18-hole school record by four strokes and the 36-hole school record by 10 strokes.
A College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American last season, Honigford has opened her senior campaign with a pair of first-place finishes and is averaging 73 strokes over three rounds of play.
The Polar Bears return to action on Sunday and Monday at the Capital Fall Classic at Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester.
