ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Amelia Burger (Centerville) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week for the week of April 3-10.
This marks Burger's second career OAC Player of the Week accolade, as she also earned the honor once as a freshman.
The latest recognition comes after Burger shot a 79-82—161 to finish second of 39 golfers at the Polar Bear Easter Classic on Friday and Saturday at Colonial Golfers Club. She was the highest finisher among OAC golfers in the field and was edged by Medalist Taylor Ross of Adrian (Mich.) by just one stroke.
Burger led Northern to the team championship at the tournament, as the Polar Bears posted a 329-333—662 to edge second-place Adrian by one stroke.
ONU returns to action on April 15-16 at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling.
