ADA — Ohio Northern junior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of March 27 to April 3.
This marks Honigford's fourth OAC Player of the Week accolade of the season, as she earned three such honors during the fall. She now has 10 in her career.
The latest recognition comes after Honigford shot a season-best 1-over-par 73 to win Medalist honors by three strokes at the Bluffton Spring Invitational on Sunday.
She was one of four ONU golfers to finish in the top five of the individual standings, leading the Polar Bears to the team championship with a program-record score of 306 over 18 holes. The previous 18-hole record was 314.
Honigford boasts an 18-hole average of 78 through 12 rounds and has three first-place finishes this season.
ONU (57-6 overall) returns to action on Friday and Saturday as hosts of the Polar Bear Easter Classic.
