Sophomore Grace Honigford earns fourth OAC Women’s Golfer of the Week honor of the season

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of April 11-17.

This marks the fourth OAC Golfer of the Week accolade for Honigford this season and sixth such honor of her career.

On Friday, Honigford won Medalist honors to lead ONU to a 22-shot victory at the six-team Polar Bear Easter Classic at Colonial Golfers Club.

Battling high winds, Honigford shot an 82 to take the top spot by three strokes on the par-72 course.

On Thursday, Honigford shot an 84 to finish fourth of 42 golfers as the Polar Bears placed second by one stroke at the Adrian (Mich.) Spring Invitational held at the Hills of Lenawee Golf Course.

Honigford closed the week averaging a team-best 78.8 stroke average with four first-place finishes to her credit on the season.

Next up for the Polar Bears is the three-day OAC Championships tournament, which is scheduled for April 22-24 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette.
