Women's Golf stands seventh of 16 teams after first round of Olivet (Mich.) Invitational

MARSHALL, Mich. —The Ohio Northern women's golf team is in seventh place out of 16 teams after the first day of the Olivet (Mich.) Kyle Cambell Invitational on Friday afternoon at The Medalist Golf Club.

The Polar Bears (4-0 overall) carded a 340 on the par-72 course.

Hope (Mich.) leads the team standings with a 315, Westminster (Pa.) is second with a 323 and Saint Mary's (Ind.) is third with a 324.

Sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) is in1 3th place out of 102 golfers with a first round 80 to lead ONU.

Freshman Amelia Burger (Centerville) is tied for 27th with an 85, freshman Rhianna Firmstone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) is tied for 36th with an 897, junior Torrie Smith (Kokomo, Ind./Western) is tied for 47th with an 88 and sophomore Isabella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) is tied for 59th with a 90.

Hope's Rita Cheney leads the individual stabndings with a 73.

ONU will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Olivet (Mich.) Invitational.
