Women's Golf shares title at Otterbein Classic; Honigford wins Medalist honors

WEST LAFAYETTE — Freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) won Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a first place tie at the Otterbein Classic on Sunday at River Greens Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (22-3-1 overall) tied Otterbein with 507s on the 27-hole, par-108 course. Marietta was third with a 571 and Capital was fourth with a 609.
Honigford was first out of 27 golfers with a 78-41—119 to earn Medalist honors for the fourth time in nine tournaments this season.
Sophomore Meghan Utterdyke (Lebanon/Fenwick) shot a 124, sophomore Bella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) shot a 130, sophomore Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) shot a 134 and sophomore Karlee Staugler (Saint Henry) carded a 142.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18 in two Otterbein Invitational tournaments at Northstar Golf Course in Sunbury.
