Neumann, Honigford tie for Medalist honors as Women's Golf wins second Pioneer Classic title

WEST LAFAYETTE — Senior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon) and freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) tied for Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to the team title at the Pioneer Classic 2 tournament on Sunday at River Greens Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (5-1 overall) won the four-team tournament with a 328 on the 5932-yard, par-72 course.
The 328 is the seventh-lowest 18-hole score in school history.
Otterbein was second with a 346, Marietta was third with a 371 and Muskingum was fourth with a 375.
Neumann and Honigford were first of 33 golfers individually with 6-over par 78s.
Sophomore Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) was fifth with an 85, senior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) tied for seventh with an 87 and sophomore Bella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tied for 12th with an 89.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Monday at the Muskingum Invitational at the Zanesville Country Club.
