Women's Golf tops Muskingum, falls to Trine (Ind.) to wrap up spring break trip

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's golf team wrapped up its spring break competition with a 15-6 loss to Trine (Ind.) and a 12-5 victory over Muskingum Tuesday and Wednesday at the Orange lake Resort golf course.
The Polar Bears (23-11-1 overall) began their week with a 5-5 tie against John Carroll on Monday.
All three matches were played over 36 holes using a modified Ryder Cup-style format.
In the victory over Muskingum on Wednesday, junior Allison Logue (Cincinnati/McAuley) scored three points with two individual victories and a team win, while sophomore Karolyne Staugler (Saint Henry) and freshmen Jessica Tubbs (Holland/Springfield) and Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) all contributed two points each.
Against Trine on Tuesday, junior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) scored 2 points with a pair of victories to lead ONU.
Freshman Meghan Utterdyke (Franklin/Fenwick) scored 1.5 points and junior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Akron) added one point for Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears will return to action March 28-29 at the Muskingum Spring Invitational.
