Women's Golf wins Columbus Cup Match Play tournament

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern women's golf team won the Columbus Cup Match Play tournament Sunday at Royal American Links. The Polar Bears defeated Capital 5-2 behind strong play from their youngsters. 

Freshmen Olivia Galigher (Bolivar/Tuscarawas) and Torrie Smith (Russiaville, Ind./Western) backed up their strong Saturday performances with two more victories Sunday. Junior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon), senior Taylor Daniel (Columbia City, Ind.) and junior Allison Logue (Cincinnati/McAuley) also claimed wins Sunday. 

Northern will next participate in the Bluffton Preview Sept. 21 and 22.
