Silva, Cranmer earn All-Conference honors, lead Women's Golf to fourth place finish at 2019 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE — Senior Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) and sophomore Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) earned All-Conference honors to lead Ohio Northern to a fourth place finish at the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships on Saturday and Sunday at River Greens Golf Course.
Silva finished eighth with a 85-85-87—257 and Cranmer posted a 84-89-85—258 to finish ninth out of 42 golfers on the par-72, 5810-yard course.
The top 14 golfers and ties in the 54-hole event earn All-Conference honors.
Silva is making her first appearance on the All-OAC squad and Cranmer is now a two-time All-Conference honoree after finishing third as a freshman last year.
The Polar Bears finish their season with a 28-17 overall record and placed fourth of eight teams with a 352-357-356—1065.
Junior Taylor Daniel (Columbia City, Ind.) finished 23rd with a 93-93-91-88—272, freshman Karolyne Staugler (Saint Henry) tied for 30th with a 90-95-98—283, and freshman Emily McLaughlin (Bellefontaine) was 35th with a 102-92-96—290 to round out ONU's scores.
Mount Union won the team title with a 339-325-329—993, Capital was second with a 349-346-345—1040, Otterbein was third with a 344-339-363—1046 and Heidelberg was fifth with a 357-356-355—1068.
Mount Union's Rachel Markle won Medalist honors by five strokes with a 84-78-79—241.
Friday's first round was postponed due to heavy rains in the area, forcing the ladies to play 27 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
