Women's Golf moves up to fifth on Day 2 of 2018 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Ohio Northern women's golf team moved up one spot into fifth place on the second day of the three-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at River Greens Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (24-14 overall) followed a first round 354 with a 336 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 690.

Freshman Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) is in second place out of 40 golfers with an 83-80—163.

Cranmer is tied for second out of 40 golfers on the par 73 course. The teams played the Pines and River nines on Saturday on the 27-hole course.

Otterbein leads the team standings with a 348-324—672. John Carroll is second with a 343-337—680 and Capital and Mount union are tied for third with 681s.

Senior Raven Venegas (Lima/Shawnee) is tied for 17th with a 91-82—173, junior Suzanne Short (Findlay) and is tied for 20th with a 91-84—175, junior Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) is tied for 23rd with an 89-90—179 and sophomore Taylor Daniel (Columbia City, Ind.) 36th with a 100-93—193.

The top 14 individuals and ties at the end of Sunday's final round earn All-Conference accolades.

Marietta's Jackie Cunningham holds a 15 stroke lead over Cranmer for Medalist honors with a 2-over par 74-74—148.

The final round will start Sunday at 10 am on the greens and river nines. ONU will tee off in 8-minute interv als from 10:32-11:04.
