GRANVILLE -- Senior Hannah Whisler and sophomore Caitlin Silva led the Ohio Northern women's golf team in its season-opening Denison Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Denison Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (2-13 overall) finished 14th of 16 teams with a 356-354--710.

Whisler shot an 86-89--175 and Silva carded an 89-86--175 to finish tied for 47th out of 108 golfers.

Sophomore Suzanne Short shot an 89-90--179 to finish tied for 62nd and senior Ariana Tomasula tied for 67th with a 92-89--181.

Wittenberg won the team title with a 313-297--610 and DePauw (Ind.) was second with a 328-311--639.

The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
